Sonic Youth perform Daydream Nation at ABC in Glasgow, Scotland -
August 2007

From June 2007 until February 2008 we undertook “20th anniversary” shows of Daydream Nation, playing the album once again in it’s entirety for the first time since 1988-89 (and in album order!). This show in Glasgow was filmed for posterity by our friend, filmmaker Lance Bangs - it’s this film that is currently seeing the light of day for the first time - now, on the 30th anniversary of the album’s release. We always enjoyed being in Scotland and we seemed to play very well there - the reception was always good and we were friends with many Scottish bands at the time...

Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is. Some of my favourite Sonic Youth instrumentals. sentient meat
